Ok - so I've got a series II Road King 2x12 combo, which I love. But I have had one hell of a time trying to get it to interface the way I want with varying effects set ups. The conclusion I've come to is that an amp with a ridiculous price tag really needs a complimentary set up with a ridiculous price tag to sound great.

So now I'm looking (for the first time) into a midi controller. I've had some rack gear for a while, but never run it all with midi. Currently I have a sonic maximizer, g-force, compressor and graphic eq. I might consider other rack FX units on you guys' recommendations (perhaps a Hush, or something to that effect). But most importantly, I need a good way to switch and control the units and amp channels. I've looked at the Rocktron All Access, which seems like it may be more than I need in a foot controller for the rest of my life (again - suggestions?), but I have no idea how to get the foot controller to control my rack equipment. How do I connect them?

Obviously I don't know much about this - so any information is MUCH appreciated, and please take it slow. Thanks in advance!!

You could try the Custom audio switcher with a Tech 21 MIDI Mouse or Behringer fcb1010. The switcher can control the amps external switching jacks, and the midi mouse or behringer would then switch the patches.

Another solution is the one I use, Voodoo Labs Ground Control Pro midi controller and GCX switcher.

go with the RJM amp gizmo or the new rg16 when they start shipping... the RG16 is a monster as it controls up to 8 amp functions via special chord made for your specific amp plus 8 audio loops for pedals, a buffered input that helps against tone degradation and fully midi controlled with your choice of controller..... the amp gizmo is just for channel switching and contolling everything via midi

I just ordered a Nobels MF-2 from GodLyke from a suggestion here (and comment that the FCB1010 is fragile).

MIDI controller, has 4 relay switch connections, 4 expression pedal connections, phantom power, seems to have it all except no carrying case is mentioned. :?
