Metallica via Mesa/Boogie Mark III video

I used to be a rec junky. I wanted a rec so bad, then I got the mark III. haven't played through a rec, even in a store or at a rehearsal studio, since I got it.

Here are my main settings for pretty much all the clips.

For master of puppets I believe they were similar settings without the parametric EQ as I hadn't bought it at that point. I remember scooping the mids post recording for that clip.

Tell me about the Parametric EQ. I've been looking into these for a while and the RANE EQ always pops up.

Is it noisy? does it hiss? Does it really shape the tone noticeably? Anything bad I should be aware of?
