I"m sure we've all had embarrassing moments with gear. But your Mesa can probably handle it.
Twice now, I have done things that should have made any other amp explode or smash into pieces.
I have a Rectoverb head. Once, when plugging it in to my cab, I accidentally plugged the speaker cable in to the Slave Out jack instead of the speaker out. When I hit the standby switch, I was surprised by a bright white/blue flash like lightning coming out the back of the head! I had no idea what I had done, and thought my amp was done for, but no way. She's still blasting loud as ever.
Another time, after too many drinks and a wild set, I was taking my rig down a bit too drunk. I had my amp on top of two 4x12 cabs. I forgot that I hadn't taken the head down before I went to lift off the top cab... I got smashed in the skull and then in slow motion, (maybe cause I was drunk) watched my amp fall aaaaaallllll the way to the floor where it landed with a thunderous SMAK and continued to roll and bounce a couple feet toward the edge of the stage, snapping the kick drum mic clean off the clip and narrowly missing bandmates and sound dudes...
Needles to say, I, everyone around, and of course the amp came out A-OK and without a scratch! Unbelievable! Once again, I thought I had destroyed it, but NOPE.
This amp has proven to kick ***.

Mesas are built to last! Your Mesa has 9 lives thus far. Must've been a very a slow motion fall from your eyes.

Mesa's are built tougher than average but abusing an amp like that is still pretty ridiculous. Makes me leery of buying used amps. You never know what drunkard has been tossing them around and spilling beer in them.

Oh that reminds me! One of my friends had a Dual Rec and left it in the back room during a party and someone had spilled a beer on top of it. It ran down the vent on top and all over the tubes and down the back panel. He was ready to kill. But, once again, the Mesa comes out on top!
And FYI, I'm not advertising that people go out and abuse their amps. Just sharing some stupid things I've done (shamefully) and showing how tough Mesas are.

Oh man, I would be beside myself....lol....my luck I would see it coming from 1/2 way across the room..." look at that disaster, oh he's headed right for my gear, great..."

Seriousy though, Mesa's are very well made!

My head fell to the floor when i was striking down the rig after a show. It landed on one of the corners and completely cut the input cable in two when it hit the floor. Left a nice gauge in the tolex too. Luckily it still worked :)
