Hi there,

I play in a cover band that has to cover a lot of songs in 3.30 hour performances so I try to use the 3 channels without requiring changing setttings mid gig. Yes I use some basic pedals (comp, chorus, delay), and I play with a Gibson ES-335 with passive humbucker pu's.

Can someone give me some hints for

1 - A very clean (clean switch) but interesting channel 1

2 - A "marshall 'ish" acdc, hard rock /popish channel 2 that I can just adjust the volume on my guitar to soften it when needed

3 - A classic metal channel 3 (metallica, motorhead, etc)

Again, all of these sounds should not require me to keep adjusting settings while on stage.
If you guys have some cool working ideas (maybe someone with the same gig I'm in ;) ), I would greatly apprecciate it!

Oh and... I play rythmn mostly ;)

Thank you very much for the help!

I guess I'll give you some since nobody else has, although I've not necessarily dialed towards classic metal. So especially with a 335, there might be too much mids in all of these.

Clean channel settings, just find what works. You said "interesting" so maybe start with the gain at noon, and use 45 watt, variac, or both.

Crunch Gain- 2:00, V-noon, Presence- noon to 1:00 if you want a brighter more M style crunch. T -1:00, M to taste, but try 10:00, B- 10:00

Extreme - Gain at 1:00, V noon, P- taste... noonish, T-1:00, M 9:00, B- 10:00.

EQ set first slider up about halfway, second half way between there and flat, middle half way between bottom line and second line, fourth slicer depends on your speakers but somewhere between a few dB below flat to a few above, and last slider up just a little above flat. And EQ on for 3rd channel and MAYBE second.

Those are very generic and I don't have a true hollowbody. I have a PRS Custom 22 Semi Hollow Limited.
