I'm currently running a 2 12 that I'm rather happy with... but am looking to something smaller for recording purposes. Anyone out there running the MK V with the Mesa Theile 1 12 cab? If so, what are your thoughts on it.

TIA.

Been running the combo and a old (19") thiele cab with a 12L for about 9 months now. The mixture is great. The thiele by itself is a good sounding cab. I think you'd be happy.

I'm with Phyrexia on this one. I just picked up my 2nd EV Thiele cab and it's the only thing better than running one; running two with a Mark V. I sold my 4x12's and the 2x12's are going next. Pairing the Thiele with a Recto 1x12 also sounds great. You won't be disappointed one bit.

I admit I have been tempted, lately, to buy another matching Thiele cab, find some 16 ohm 12Ls, and sit the V on top of the two thieles, ports down. Would be a helluva rig.

Yes! If you haven't tried it yet, it's a great setup that I would use in any live situation, ports down or to the side. it just doesn't look right that THAT much sound (and low end!) is coming from just two 1x12's. It really is mind blowing.
