Hi

I really like the mullard reisues(new sensor) in my simul c+(100 pt that puts the same voltage to the plates as the export ), i read that the NOS mesa str 450 is the closest you can get to a NOS mullard and then some, the will join a pair of philips 7581A and im considering buying them .

So have enyone tried them in a c+ ?,

(Btw i bourgt a pair of sylvania 6ca7 fat bottels, i really think the are not working as the should, the make the amp sound overly warm, and has almost no bas difinition , i can dial it in so it sounds huge and pretty good , but the are not very tight, and a bit flappy, the sound tired so to speak.
Now i know thise where the stock tubes for a c+, so il track down a nother pair from a place where the have tested them proberly first, and see if it was the tubes that where tired or damaged under shipping.)

Can't say about the c+, but I will say it's the tube I like for lower volumes on my Mark V. I just ordered another quad today.

Thats exactly what i also like about the mullard reisues, the sound great at lower volumes.

but what im concerned about is the fixed bias in the c+, i have no idea have the 450`s work with the c+ bias.

Give Mesa a call. They'll set you strait on it.

I will do just that

But since i call from overseas, its diffecult and expensiv, plus i have two time left my name and number in the answering machine but the dont replay back wich indicates that the dont bother calling overseas privat customers.

But i might just have been unlucky
