Mesa Single Rec. Pedal Cable questions

I have a Single Rec. and lost the MIDI cable to the pedal. My question is this. It is a 5-pin MIDI. Will any MIDI 5-pin work (5-Pin Monster??) or does it have to be wired specifically to control the Mesa Foot Pedal?

Same problem here. Anyone tried using a generic 5-pin DIN yet?

The cable is not Midi. midi wont work. The cable is a specific DIN cable

So if Midi won't work, would a standard 5-PIN DIN cable work? Like this one:

This is a Midi DIN standard, except that these are "wired 5-PIN discrete which means all five pins are connected for uses other than standard MIDI which only requires 3 conductuctors."

For anyone who is curious, I found out today that you can indeed use a standard MIDI cable for the 5-pin Mesa Rectoverb. I borrowed a MIDI cable and tried it out. Using a standard MIDI DIN, everything worked fine.

Yes, and it saves you 15 dollars on buying a midi cable!
