Hey all,

Hopefully I don't get any crap for this (due to the nature of general Boogie applications), but I was wondering if the TremoVerb can do Djenty-music.

I already know it's a great head for everything from Timmons to Dream Theater and everything in between, but I want to know if it can really get those booming lows that are really defined (think Meshuggah or Periphery).

A local guy has the head for a steal and I want to go ahead with it, should I really put more stock in a Cab to help me get this type of sound, or will the amp be able to do most of the work for me?

Any insight you guys can offer would be great.

It will be perfect for djenty riffing. I think the head will do a lot of the work for you, and the cabinet/speaker choice will make a difference, but your general djentyness will be coming from the amp.

I highly recomend some type of boost infront of the amp. A clean boost, OD or something. Plenty of good pedals out there, and one that is talked about a lot is the BB preamp.

Id try these settings with the head.

Channel 2 - Modern
Presence - 2:00
Bass - 11:00
Mid - 1:30-2:00
Treble - 1:00
Gain - 3:00

There should be some happy djenting going on right there.

So it seems like the Tremoverb might be slightly out of my price range after all, as I'd have to buy a cabinet for it.

Any chance you've had a similar experience with the Rectoverb? I've seen a video of the guitarist from the second band I mentioned demoing it, but the sound on the camera was subpar at best.

Thanks for the insight.
