Hey guys I have a quick question to ask about about where to put each tube in the amp

Does it really matter where you position each power tube, and preamp tube in the amp I know that rectifier tubes have a certain place they must be positioned in the amp but does it really matter where you put the rest of the tubes in the amp? :?

Yes somewhat. The power tubes should be matched inside pair and outside pair (a b b a). Preamp postions can be important too, depending on how picky you are.

You will need either 4 "matched" tubes/Quartet or 2 sets of 2 matched tubes/Duets.
If you use 2 Duets - we'll call them Duet A and Duet B -you would put the tubes of Duet A in the outside tube sockets and the tubes of Duet B in the inside tube sockets. It would look like this - A B B A

Hope this makes sense for you. Not sure I explaned this well

well last night I turned the back of my amp around to see how the tubes were currently arranged in the amp, and it appeared that the four power tubes were all positioned at the left hand side of the amp, while the Two rectifier tubes were positoned in the last two positions at the right side of the amp?

Thats right. That has to be that way too. The last two on the right are for rectifier tubes only.

Right,so Is the V1 preamp slot located on the left hand side of the amp or the right hand side of it near the rectifier tubes.

thanks again
