yeah I read that too , the other rectro's are chassis mounted. Prb the room to spare!benjamin801 said:I'm not an amp tech, but Mesas always look super clean and well-laid out on the inside for as complicated as the circuits often are.
And as far as PCB-mounted tube sockets go, most Mesas have chassis-mounted sockets, but there are a lot of high-end designers (Steve Fryette immediately comes to mind) who say that as long as the design is good and the PCB is high quality, it doesn't matter.
My Roadster uses PCB mounted sockets. I believe the MKV does as well.benjamin801 said:And as far as PCB-mounted tube sockets go, most Mesas have chassis-mounted sockets, but there are a lot of high-end designers (Steve Fryette immediately comes to mind) who say that as long as the design is good and the PCB is high quality, it doesn't matter.

No, I've only had it a couple of months. When I got it there was a small nick in the ground wire (see middle all black wire below) that was caused when the case was attached -- the screw is too long, apparently. No real harm, when I plugged it in, I blew the fuse. I called up Mesa and they said to check this, sure enough, there was a nick. I put a little electrical tape (and left off the offending screw) and all is well. \m/ken361 said:Nice pics! retube that baby yet?
