Anyone know the reason behind having two different sized combo cabs? The wide and the narrow?
I own two. Both Rev. B's. One is a wide and one is the narrow cab sized combo.

I wonder if it had anything to do with the size of the ext cabs?
Anyone know for sure?

Thanks,
-Chris

The wide chassis in a head probably evolved because it looked better on a 4 x 12. Someone then thought the wide 1 x 12 combo sounded better - more "resonance" or some other secret sauce mojo nonsense.
Ah, marketing.

On the "B" (widebody) combo, Mesa was able to move the EQ and harmonics switches from the back to the front. It is nice having the harmonics switch on the front. But I would have preferred having the pentode/triode switch on the front instead of the EQ switch.
