All I can say is man, I'm getting old!!
I was giving my 13 year old some guitar lessons and he wanted to learn some older Metallica songs. I was telling him how we used to play some in a cover band I played in back in 1988. We were listening to AJFA and he asked if I could still play Dyers Eve. We used to play it back in the day but haven't tried it in about 16 years.
I decided to put together a really rough backing track (no EQing or anything) and gave it a shot. Man, I have lost my ability to play fast rhythm riffs. I used to be able to pull these off without a hitch (old Metallica and Iron Maiden riffs). Even though I don't listen to these guys very much at least my son appreciates their early material.
Thought I would share.
