Mesa Mark IIC+ 60/100W Question

Need some expert help!

Is it OK to use 60W mode with only two power tubes plugged in? Which two sockets would I use?

60 watts = two outer sockets.
I guess you could, but why, to even the wear?
I wouldn't, because (A), accidents happen, and amp repairs cost more than a pair of 6L6s.
(Although it's doubtful you could do serious damage - it should get noisy, and maybe the fuse would blow.)
And (B), you no longer have a "spare" set if a tube blows at the gig.

I don't think it is safe to unplug those power tubes.
Try running it in 60 Watt while plugging your 8ohm speaker into a 4ohm socket.
