Anyone have any experiences with eq's that would get the typical 5-band Mesa V?
The frequencies are clearly known, but would you use a para with which Q, or a graphic?

thanks,

Jan

I'd say use a parametric EQ. You can decide exactly which Frequencies to cut/boost. I'm considering buying a Nady Parametric EQ myself for my Quad preamp.

I looked around for a similar EQ for a long time and never found one. The Mesa frequencies are unique to Mesa alone. This is part of what gives them their signature sound. The only time this eq has been replicated was in some line6 digital amp a couple of years ago. Line6 does not make a pedal like it though.

So if you want those frequencies, you need a parametric.

or build an Eq pedal and choose those frequencies. Part of the mesa eq sound is it's a very hi-fi Eq.

The Mesa EQ is also run from a 65 volt supply rail, which you're not going to find in any pedal or rack EQ that runs off of a 9 volt adapter.
