Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier Multi Watt- Pre amp tubes

Has anyone messed around with V1 on this amp. Was going to try a Tung-Sol 12AX7, I really liked it in my Roadster.

Try the Tung-Sol, if you don't like it, keep trying different pre's until you get what you are after. For V1 I'm using RFT's in both my 2 channel dual and triple recs, and KT/88's for power.

I have a Blue Angel (multi-watt). I ordered new tubes over Christmas and thought I would experiment with some V1 tubes. I ordered the Tung_sol 12ax7 gold pin fully loaded (matching and balancing) paid $23.00 for it. I wound up taking my amp in becasue of some nasty hum after I retubed it. My tech said the TS had too much gain for V1 and was not a quiet tube. He put a Mesa SPAX7 in V1..and it sounds great.
I decided to put a 12AT7 in V2 to knock down some hiss, and am wondering if I need to go with a 5751 instead?
