Mesa 50/50 vs 2:50 & mod questions...

Hi,

Does anybody have any experience comparing these 2 power amps? I will be using them for various applications including with the Studio preamp. I am looking for something like Scott Henderson's old Boogie sound.

Also, is there any way when ordering a used 50/50 by mail to determine if it has the deep mod by the numbering on the amp etc?

How does the modded 50/50 compare to the 2:50

Sorry about that; it wasnt called a deep mod but is the mod that Mesa made to the 50/50 after 1991 on through the rest of the run of the amp.

Any advice on the sound of the amp in general or as it compares to other 50 watters or the 2 90 as well?

I'm the happy owner of a 50/50 with what seems to be a choke on the right side (after research, that seems to be called deep mod on the 50/50).
All I can say is that my amp sounds great (after retubing and bias with SED =C= 6L6GC): rich, powerfull bass, deepfull.
