I had 2 of the Maverick 2-12 combos and they are a fantastic amp. they dont do over the top metal but rock pretty good. I got as much gain as I ever got out of my Marshall 4100 head, but with tone.
As for the loudness factor .... I stayed right up with a 100 watt Marshall combo. Dont have the girth of a halfstack but cuts through with its punch.
Now mind you I had 2 of these and although they both sounded great they were quite different. The first one was tight and mid-sounding with more of a classic gain. and the 2nd one sounded alot darker with more bass and modern-ish gain.
