What can people tell me about these amps' when they're driven and pushed hard? I have hear so much about clean and crunch, but how do they sound when you push them? Blink 182 singer/guitarist Tom DeLonge is known for using vox ac30 h2's and supposedly dc30's are somewhat like ac30's; they also play punk music so it seems that the amp could fit the bill. Their live tone was incredible. If in fact they are like ac30's im very curious in this amp.

AC30's are cheaper than dc30's but I planned on getting a matchless clone from ceriatone, which is even cheaper.

There is a reason why the name is Matchless... Mark Sampson is to Matchless as Randall Smith is to Mesa Engineering...in both cases there are sincere imitators, but nothing subs for the real thang.

The answer: Godly!

The old Matchless (Sampson era) is like the best AC30TB you have ever heard in your life that will never break down or smell like burnt hair after a gig. The new ones are cool as well. I got to mess around with a DC a while back and it is a killer amp with the right power band for clubs/recording. Listen to The Gin Blossoms two cd's. All DC and Chieftain.
