Marshall JVM

Have you seen there is a new Marshall out with four channels with three modes each? Sounds like they have been looking at the Roadster/Road King. It still only has four 12AX7 preamp tubes which I find strange.

I thought it was an attempt by marshall to grab some of the Roadkings territory also.

As far as the sound goes, in the video, I am still not impressed by any modern marshall's, too fizzly, not enough tone definition, etc. It may be a step in the right direction, but they still have a long way to go - Buy the Roadking!

looks like a cool design, but i'm not a fan of the modern marshall (jcm 2000 series) tone all that much. so i'm not getting too excited, and thats good cuz i probably can't afford one! :lol:

I don't think this amp was introduced to rival the Road King specifically, just to rival the many multi-channel, feature laden amps that are on the market today. Let's face it, the TSL wasn't doing that for them.

Why this is relevant i do not know, but these heads will be around half the price of a Dual Recto here in the U.K.

I played one the other day and was very impressed. i think if your looking for the Marshall sound in a stiletto or ace, for the money go with the new Marshal JVM410. The roaster I played had a bigger variety in tones then the Marshall, IMHO but I'm a marshall lover so I loved the JVM410 for all Marshall tones. the foot switch is awesome and I wish my MKIV switch could do all that.

The JVM appears to have too many "bells & whistles" for my tastes, but I am intrigued by the new "Vintage Modern" series that Marshall came out with, I can't wait to try out one of those.

The sound on the newer Marshall's do not impress me at all. The JCM 2000's, Mode 4 (solid state/one preamp tube), and the JVM's are just getting more channels and options but are becoming less and less in sound quality. The best amp Marshall ever made was the Plexi's (Super Lead, Super Bass, etc.). The JCM 600's, 800's, and 900's are good, but I do not like the sound on the new Marshall's.
