Ok...so I was replacing my power tubes in my Mark V head from 6L6s to EL34s and I noticed a small chip (about 2millimeters) in between the socket prongs in the V8 tube slot. Is that going to be a problem? Those sockets look incredibly hard (like porcelain). I haven't noticed any audible problems, but then again, I don't want one to arise. This is my studio head and I am just starting to track demos for our next album. This head is one of the first MKV's to come off of the assembly line. This was also my first time changing the power tubes in this amp. The V8 slot looked particularly dirty now that I think of it. Should I bring it in for some maintenance or should I send my head to Boogie to have them check it out?

Probably the best idea - have a Mesa tech take a look. That's what the warranty is for!

Absolutely. I just got off of the phone with my Mesa certified tech and all I have to say is WHAT A FANTASTIC WARRANTY!!!

For the past year and a half, this particular Mesa Mark V has been my main workhorse amp. I've logged probably 500+ hours into this amp playing all over the US from studios to arenas to little hole-in-the-wall bars. I only needed to replace the power tubes once, and that was about 30 days after I bought the amp (blew the original 6L6s). Other than that, it resides in its road case being lugged around from gig to gig. I never realized how practical this purchase was until today. I am very cautious about endorsing things...but this amp is totally worth the investment, especially if you are a legit musician.

Will be dropping this baby off tomorrow to have them do a full cleaning/inspection and preamp retube.

LOVE MY BOOGIE!
