Mark V and a CryBaby not right!!!

I have an Original CryBaby and it just sounds odd. Like it gets this octive thing going. I only use it as a set effect. As in I set the pedal at a specific spot and then don't move it. (Money for nothing...LOL.... I want my MTV) Sad I know but people like it and dance I get paid so I play it. So the question is, is there a CryBaby that works well with the Mark V? :? I have the pedal running in front of the amp. Guitar into Crybaby then into the amp.

Your wah may have something wrong. Check it with another amp.
I use a Vox 847 in front of the MkV and it works perfectly.

Def check out the wah. I have not used the original cry baby but I do have both a 535q and a cantrell wah. While the cantrell has a great almost vocal tone through the mkV, I doesnt have the tone pallets that the 535q does and at times sounds tinny compared to the 535. ALSO, check where you are running your wah. I tried running after the noise are in the effects loop and both my wahs sounded terrible. I ran it right before the amp input an outside of the effects loop and it sounded great. So def check it in a couple different spots in the loop.

Jerry Cantrell Wah is amazing. Something is probably wrong with your pedal.

I also run a Dunlop 535q on my pedalboard into the Mk V and it sounds just fine.

Eqwahlizer, Dunlop CFH, Bad Horsie, Dunlop Crybaby, Clyde Deluxe, etc... All of these sound great to exceptional through my Mark V. It's got to be your wah...A/B it with another wah and let us know what you find out!

I checked the pedal on my Mesa F-30 and it worked fine. So I shut everything down and was a bit perplexed over having to dump money into something I rarely use. I do use the CryBaby but to be honest pedals are not my thing. So the next day I went into my music room to wallow in all the things I could buy that would be of more use. I turned on the F-30 and I had left the pedal on overnight and the battery was dead. So I popped in a new battery and a thought came, what if the battery was just old but still working for the F-30. The Mark V is very sensitive to every little thing the F-30 is like a truck. I fired up my Mark V all the while thinking sure, humor yourself, a low battery was the problem. Yea, right. Well guess what gents, that fixed it. A freaking low or medium battery caused the Mark V to freak. To explain what it sounded like. If I played two notes together, like the root and 5th of an “E” chord the notes would pop up and down an octave back and forth. So the test on another amp did and didn’t do it. But problem solved.

If yur just toyin with it in yur jam space, I assume yur not giggin....but link that thing at home. I get tired of usin battery's so anytime I can plug into the wall I do. Between the 18 volt mod on both guitars, few wahs.... I gotta carry a briefcase of 9 volts. Lol. Glad ya got it figured out, it generally is always something simple. Walkin away for a bit is the best way to fix most of those problems.
