New song posted is "Time Goes On."

Let me know what you guys think of tone and song...

The other songs are all Mark IV as well... some have been posted before. The Scar is new. Let me know what you guys think.

hi kk, the tones were quite good in my opinion, even if - to my tastes - I'd rather try to get a slightly smoother and juicier tone for the solos and, on the contrary, a crisper tone for rhythm parts, which I found to be a bit muddy and not so well defined (but maybe it's just because of the mp3 format). However good work and good luck for your future singer.

Thanks for the feedback, ytse_jam. I agree on the rythm stuff. It definitley does not chuck the way I had hoped. It was our first venture into studio time and the sound I was getting through the cans sounded pretty good for rythm stuff, and sits well with the vox on top. Soon as we pulled the vox in quest of our new singer, it sounded much thinner.

Recently picked up a recto, so I am sure future rythm stuff will be a lot tighter, and more present.

i like the stuff. the songs flow well and the tone captures the song. Could be a little more cutting as mentioned, but not a big deal.

Rectos are not tight, they are muddy and full of annoying bass frequencies.
Mark IV has the best tones,it swallows any recto out there

I really liked Time Goes On, very enjoyable. The tone was good too, fits the song well. A recto would beef up the rhythm for sure. The only thing that didn't sit well with me is the snare. The other songs were equally enjoyable and that lead tone on The Scar was very nice. Good job.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Matt. The place we recorded gave me protools files at one point in the project and I don't know if he had mixed the drums yet! We just wanted to get em out there without the vox so I muted our old singer without paying too much attention to the mix - especially the drums...
