Please help save me time and money before I start replacing tubes, etc.

My Mark IV combo amp speaker started squealing intermittently. This occurs on all channels regardless if the guitar is connected or not. It happens a minute or two after taking the amp off of "standby". Adjusting the volume does not effect the volume of the squeal...it is a faint, annoying squeal that cuts in and out. When I record with the silent record out activated, I do not hear the squeal through my audio interface from the amp's line-out (but you can still hear it at the amp's speaker). When I disconnect the amp's speaker, the squealing stops. Another strange observation is that when it is squealing, the sqealing will stop if I tilt the amp either foward or backward at a 30-45 degree angle. I read the manual but my issue appears to be different than the example they provide of replacing a tube or all tubes. Before I spend the money to replace tubes or take it to a shop, any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Matt

So you dont have any spare tubes? If not, try rotating your preamp tubes to different locations. My first guess would be tubes, but it could be either power or preamp.
