Mark IV A from 8/92 as marked on the chassis. Sent to Mesa boogie about a year ago, mike b did a few things and has been awesome.

But I’ve noticed when I power it down there’s a pop. Doesn’t matter if I go into stand by first or go straight off, I get a pop about 3-5 seconds after it gets turned off.

It’s been happening ever since I got it, it’s never given me any other issues, and it absolutely rips but it’s one thing that’s always bothered me, not knowing if it’s causing other issues or it’s a sign of an underlying issue.

I'll subscribe to this thread, my Mark IV does the same thing. My JP2C makes a pop when I first chenge channels and then stops until the next time I use it.

My IVA from '91 does the same, as do many other amps so it's normal.

I always turn my amps off with standby in the on position, most people I've spoken with do the opposite. My theory is to use the circuit resistance to bleed off the voltage rather than the internal resistance of the capacitor, with hopes that it will extend the life of the PS caps.

Does it happened always, no matter if your are at home/rehersal/gig ?
If so, have you try and connect head to a power conditioner?
