So just a quick question...whats the point of having a Lead and a Lead + EQ button on the footswitch? With out the Lead + EQ button you could just step on both at the same time. Also the EQ is programmable on the back for RHY 2 so why did Mesa come up with this layout? If correct length was an issue why not put a Tuner/Mute there instead?
 
A lot of guys these days don't even use the R1 and R2 channel. The lead channel only has enough gain to be used as a rhythm for them. So the EQ can be set up to be used as a boost in lead channel volume and also add in a little more mids to cut the mix for a solo. So it's almost like having a fourth channel when set up in that configuration. Now us old schoolers really like the auto R2 button, needing the EQ only to fine tune the glory of R2. I agree many would prefer to have the "solo volume" control (like on your nomad or MkV or Lonestar etc.)
