Mark IV Footswitch?

This may seem silly but what is the secret to winding up the cord and getting my footswitch installed in the back of my short head for traveling. I can't seem to get it stuffed in there and I'm afraid I'll break a tube so I just carry it in a box with cabels and stuff.

I usually just coil up the cord giving the plug end and the footswitch end a little slack so that you can tuck the coils into the amp. One of those little velcro cable straps works good to keep things in order too.
