Mark IV EL-34 Tube Choices

I was able to get my dealer to throw in a pair of EL-34's when I picked up my new Mark IV on Friday. I didn't notice until I got home that he gave me Sovteks.

I know virtually nothing about tube choices for the Mark IV. How do the Sovteks compare with the other Mesa tubes available as EL-34's?

Other than the STR-450 Siemens, that's all they have. The old STR-442 Svetlana's were superb, but if you want to fork out $ 70.00, the Siemens are awesome. My current setup has been two GT 6L6GE's and two GT 6CA7GE's.

Hey gents,, I saw the above poster mention str-450's and str 442's.
I recently picked up a new stiletto deuce and it came with mesa
STR-447's,, another el34 tube.
Do any of you know who the original maker of these tubes are and the consensus of these compared to the other mentioned mesa tubes????
