Mark iv combo to head conversion using different headshell

Has anyone tried converting a mark iv short body combo using a different headshell (non-mark iv)? Which other mesa models have headshells that would fit a mark iv?

Mark I Reissue, Mark III, DC-2, DC-3, Maverick (short head). Any headshell that fits a Boogie chassis that measures 17 inches wide should fit.
Some Mark IIs have different spacing for the chassis mounting screws, I forget which.
