Mark IV Combo fuse blown

Hey guys!

I bought a Mesa/Boogie Mark IVa a month ago, and yesterday the fuse blew. On the back of the chassis it says 1.5A and i cant seem to find a fuse with that rating here in Norway. A friend of mine told me that placing a 2a slo-blo fuse would work fine and not cause any major problem to my amp. I dont really want to experiment with that theory and wonder if anyone here know what i should do?

For a Mark IV A its actually a 3 amp Slo-Blo. You can easily get them at Radio Shack. They usually sell them in 4 packs.
I would be more concerned why the fuse blew in the first place. Check your tubes after you replace the fuse. They may need replacing.

I changed the mesa tubes to some ruby 6l6 spare tubes i had lying around, i also changed the fuse with a 2A slo-blo 250v fuse and it seems to be working fine now. Thanks for the input!

In the US it is 3A. For export models, the required current is halved, making it 1.5A. the 2A fuse will get you by, but it may not protect from a catastrophic failure, since it will fail at a higher current. P.S. I don't think there are any Radio Shacks in Norway.

I think you'll be fine with that. 1.5 is just a rating and there will be individual variance from one
1.5 to another so you should be just fine with a 1.6a fuse. That said, if you plug in the 1.6a fuse
and it blows again, you'll need to root cause the reason the fuse blew in the first place.
