This is the first tone I dialed into the Mark and tweaked for about an hour and I've been trying to stick with it for awhile until I start moving around.. this is a cool 'Tool' style tone.. very adam jonesy. I recorded some tool riffs in the second clip so you could hear it. The cam kind of sucks the life out of it but you get the idea.

First riff is some silly generic heavy metal riff I made up on the spot

This is the 'tool' sound:

Pretty brutal eh? I love how much bass this 2x12 puts out.. so much punch to the mutes in person (feel it in your chest).

I am glad to see and hear it coming along for you D. Keep tweaking those knobs. You'll truly be amazed at what you find.

the tool sound lacks some bass on the palm muted D's. but overall great tone!

Yeah that's one of the side effects of this horrible cam. The bass will punch you in the throat in person :)

thanks guys!

Can you post your settings?

Sure, I'll post them when I get home tonight (time permitting). If I forget to update this will you shoot me a PM to remind me?

Thanks for that tip :D

I never tried one of those. How do you use it? I heard that you can do Led Zepplin type bowing with it.

It's kind of a novelty I guess but it's really neat at the trick it does. My friend got it for me for xmas. You basically hold it onto the string you want to vibrate and it creates an infinite loop by keeping the string vibrating wildy as long as you hold it there. It can't do multi string at once so that kind of sucks (like Page could with a real bow) but there's a harmonic mode where it basically instantly creates a harmonic wherever you put it.

Great for adding some background noise to a passage with just drums/bass in it or for backing up a rhythm guitar part with. I like putting it into my analog delay with a really distorted guitar signal. I'll record a clip of me using it for you.

So you can't use it on several strings at once? How large is the area that actually makes it work?

It's about the size of a stick of gum I'd say. I'll get a picture of it

It's basically a 'groove' that the string fits into so you can only put it on one at a time.. however the better you get with it, you can move it quickly and/or hit a different string with your finger to make multi note textures.

It's crazy with my slide too.
