Curious, Im going for a rack again and I am just looking at my options.. Mark III is one of them.

What is the weight of a Mark III rackmount component?

About 70 lbs., ironically, about the same as a combo. A head shell will save some weight, but not a rack shell. Mark III chassis ain't light, unfortunately. :D

Are you sure about that? from this thread, says a Mark III is 37 lbs (before rack obviously)

So I dont see how you are saying a Mark III is TWICE that.

Haven't actually put each on a scale, but I have owned a C90 loaded Mark III combo, and a Mark III chassis in a 6 space plastic SKB-style rack case, and they weigh the same or very close. The rack adapter with the chassis will fit a four space, but you need the six space if you want the reverb tank.

that's for a head vs. a combo I think. a combo with an EVM in it is more than twice that. When I bought my greenie as a 1x12 with an EVM I basically picked it up once, said "hahaha no" and made it into a head.

mark iii chassis in a rackmount kit is just over 40 pounds.
