Can anyone tell me how tall their mark III head is? Im making a new enclosure for my mark III combo and im switching it to a head unit, don't know how tall to make it and i want to stick sort of close to the original dimensions.

I would also like the dimensions of the mesa 112 cabinet. Inside dimension and outside dimensions. Also, anyone know what the baffle is made out of and how thick it is?

thanks man, whats the internal dimension? 8.5''? assuming its two 3/4'' pieces of plywood on the top bottom id assume it was 8.5'', but i just want to make sure.

If you are converting a combo to a head, your chassis is 17' wide (with 7 knobs on the front, right?)
Unless your combo has a 15" speaker.
(People call these a "short" chassis - the correct term would be narrow, but everyone says "short", "long", even though they refer to side-to-side measurements - I blame the school system. )
My head cab with a 17" chassis measures:
18 5/8 " wide
9 1/16" deep at the top**
10 5/16" deep at the bottom**
**because of the slanted front panel
8 5/16" high (just the wood, no feet or other hardware)
Internal depth is 6 7/8" (Yeah, I know, the difference I get is 1.44", not exactly 1.5")
All the wood on mine is 3/4" thick. Some older head cabs have thicker side panels, maybe 1".
Hope this helps :D

Okay now, internal height is 6 7/8''. Does your mark III have a big reverb tank like mine does, and does it have the built in cooling fan?

Yep, the tank is 16 3/4" long and the fan is mounted to a recess in the center of the front panel, about as close to the tank as possible without actually touching it.
I don't have an open-back cab, but I posted pix of a Thiele here:

The reverb tank is mounted upside down hanging through a cutout in the bottom.

Great reference pics (mark III and Mark IV heads are the same dimensions) : http://forum.grailtone.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=33437

oh geeze thats goign to be a pain in the ass. I might just stick with combos then. or make the head a bit taller so i dont have to do that.
