Mark III EQ switch problem

The other day I was playing my MKIII and was passing through the various eq options (auto, in, out).
So at one point I placed the switch on Eq Auto and the sound went from lead to clean.
Now when I play the lead channel on the EQ IN and OUT it is distorted when I go to AUTO it becomes clean.
What could be the problem? Has anyone ever experienced this?
I'm going to bring it to a tech but wanted to ask if it seems something to worry about.

Hi Lorenzo,

It sounds like your EQ switch is hooked up to the wrong wires on the board.
A tech should be able to figure it out.

The thing is it worked perfectly till that day.
Anyway I will take it to a doctor to cure it.

is it possible you plugged the EQ plug into the lead/rhythm socket? I know it's silly, but it happens to the best of us...

I wish i did. I use the footswitch only to change channel (clean/lead).
No one wants to tell me something like "It's nothing to worry about. The tech will fix it easily.... "?

Maybe someone reversed and LRD in the switching buss.

Without pictures or the amp in front of us we can only speculate as to what the problem is.
