mark iii coliseum, cap seems to be missing, tech help needed

That is one of the filtering capacitors for the EQ section. It's purpose is to smooth the voltage that powers that section. I'd assume that at some point mesa decided that adding an extra capacitor there didn't serve a useful function. Generally speaking good electrical design requires a capacitor there, but they can be expensive, and again I assume some one made the argument that there was little noticeable difference without it, so why spend the 5 extra dollars on each amp?
