Hi all,
I just picked up a Mark III and was looking for some more info about the amp.
After doing some searching, It appears to be a black stripe/Dot?
The serial number is: 16592
Good or bad opinions about the amp, or things I may want to address with my particular model (mods etc.) would be great.

Here are some pix of the beast:

Look under the amp by the first preamp tube V1, ( to the right) use a flashlight, you should be able to see the date it was made, month and year.

It's a black stripe Simul-class that was, at some time, returned to Mesa and got the reverb mod.

Manufactured in January 1986, on the 3rd week of the month.

Hey, thank you for the input!
I've been doing a little more googling and found some other interesting info. Some about the Mark III specifically, and some just about Mark amps etc.
For example there is a code on the sides of the chassis with the letters. "DR 3", which means "Simul-Class/Reverb from production week 3.
There is sticker on the other end of the chassis:

Apparently showing the amp went back to Boogie for something on Aug 25, 1995. Not sure what that could have been. Perhaps Boogie still has a record of the RA# 8399 for that year?
It is suggested in a previous post reverb had possibly been added later? Maybe that is it? But why would the chassis show the code for a reverb amp from the factory?

Everything appears to be working perfectly on the amp, reverb and all controls. The amp is in amazing condition.

Are there any more mods being done to the Mk III other than the reverb tank flip in the head version, and R2 mod?
I can see what the big deal is about the R2 mod. lol
You need to have that volume 1 set above 7 to get R2 to really do anything, of course doing that that messes with your clean and even your lead settings. lol
I will definitely do the R2 mod when I do a recap.
