Mark IIC+ Problem...

For the past few months, my boogie is my baby, but then all of a sudden today, the amp is sound harsh. There is no smooth gain, which I love, its harsh tone, and a mid honk I can't dial out. Is this a sign of a dying tube?

EDIT: I've been using my amp with an 8ohm cab into the 4ohm cab. Is that going to mess up my amp?

Since the change in tone occured suddenly,it very well be time for new tubes.How old are they?Plugging the 8ohm speaker into the 4ohm tap will not hurt your amp at all.
