Hi I just bought a "supposed to be" original Mark IIc 60w with eq. Serial number is 11966. The transformer looked pretty small compared to my original Mark IIc++. I do plan on modding it to a c+. Is 11966 really a markIIc. I hope so :-/ I bought it over the phone from a store in NH. I should have it next week.. $925.00 I couldn't pass it considering I paid 2600 for the c++ I have couple of years ago

The serial number is correct for a Mk ll C. The power transformer is smaller on the 60 watt model than it is on the 100 watt or simulclass amps.

What store in NH did you buy it from?

Frank is being modest about his IICA+ Export. It's got a few factory stock differences than any other C+ I have seen.
Mike B. basically dropped in a whole finished C+ RP11A circuit board on that one. We will need to see your circuit board to see what you
have. Since there are not too many IIC's left stock it's been a bit hard to pinpoint when Mesa switch from the RP-10 to the RP-11.
It's possible to upgrade both, but the older IIC RP-10 is a nightmare better left for Mike B.
I have a stock IIc serial #119** I'll try to get a look of the guts

Thanks again for all the info and recomendation Boogiebabies.

I want to wait until I can get the opportunity to play a C+ to decide if I really want to have the upgrade, this amp sounds very good but I need to give it a chance before modifying it more.
I have them both and dude I'm picky. I sold a markIII black dot and a mark V cause I didn't like the tone. The c+ is a killer tone.. Seriously the Mark IIc lead channelI I have sounds like garbage compared to my C+, clean channel is pretty good thou but not better ;-)
Thanks!!

dodger916, that is exactly the advice I was looking for, thank you very much. I played the amp and sounded so good as a IIC... that I don't want to change it but on the other hand I am in the stress thinking that it may become even better as a "+", but so far, I think I will keep it as that, the price was so good for the condition of the amp... I really was expecting more wear, but only problem was the tape that I removed most of it already, will be hard to remove 100%. Also it come with a case that protected very well but the foam is desintegrating so I may need to remove it and found a way to put something else.

Anyway, I think I will keep it a s IIC for now, and try to get in the future another C+.

I will post the pictures or a link, thanks!!
I have compared the two and to my ears the plus is thousands of miles better clean and crunch. I hate the lead on the IIc thou. I'm sending it to mesa for the mod.
