I purchased this Mark I at Player Guitars in Marin County San Fran about 14 years ago.
I played it in the shop and thought wow, I have to have this amp
It has some rust on the facia (must be steel facia) and some patina from being used, nothing too serious.
Speaker is a Celestion G12H-100 type T3595. 16ohm. Is this origonal?
It is a non reverb Model in good working condition.
This is my 4th Boogie. Also had MK II, MK IIB and MK IIC all purchased new,direct from Mesa.
Does anyone know anything about this amp? I assume it's serial number 20. which means it's really early in production.
Is it possible to get a new facia panel? Be great to do some restoration.
I may decide to sell it down the track a bit. Anyone got an idea of what this amp might be worth?

Looks to be a roughly late 75' or 76' Mark I 1x15"... but someone replaced the front baffle to mount that 12" Celestion. All the Mark I serial numbers beginning in B were 15" models. I have B068 and its dated 12/76...

You defininately have a killer piece of early Boogie history there... would be nice to convert it back to a 15" and find yourself a nice JBL K130 speaker...

Mark Is seem to be the hardest to value since there are so few and they don't seem to change hands very often. The hardwood cabinet complicates it even more. I've seen a few go for crazy cheap, and a bunch sit out there forever while people ask $4,000+. Both of Neil Young hardwood Mark Is went for around $5k, but those prices are strongly inflated due to the provenance. Neither were the wide chassis.

I will say a hardwood 15" combo is pretty darn rare. I made it my mission to find one for about a year before I finally lucked out and pried one out of someone's hands. That was a Mark III though so a little easier to value. I still think I overpaid but live and learn.

It's a bummer to see this one converted to 12". Hopefully the work they did is reversable since a 15" combo is so cool. There are some good options from Altec, Electro-Voice, and JBL. I've had the EVM-15L in both of mine (tolex and hardwood) and enjoyed them a lot.

I wish I could help more on prices and history. Best I could say is reach out to Mesa. They still have people around that remember these things. I doubt there are any spare parts around at this point though. That's a really cool amp either way, even unrestored. I'm a little over extended at the moment, but might not be when you go to sell. Please look me up if you ever get to that point. I am in the Sierra Foothills and have family in Marin county.

Online searches have shown EVM Pro 15L, EVM SRO 15L, Altec 418B, JBL D-130, JBL and K-130 speakers as options at the time. S-fresh, anything else?

What do the transformer codes or chassis writing show on the amp? What type of wood was used on the cabinet? Is there a serial number stamped into the right post where the back panel is attached?

The lowest B-series serial found so far online was B0011, highest B0088. Anyone find a long chassis head? Would it have a B- serial number?

Wondering when and why the first 15" was made. Were there any snakeskin 15" combos or Fender boosts that used a 15" speaker?
