I have a Mark V head.

There are two settings on Channel 2 and 3 that I have never really been able to master.

The Mark I setting on Channel 2 is lifeless. I cannot see how you would use it.

The Extreme setting on Channel 3 is too bassy. Again I cannot see the merit in it.

Would love to hear how others use these two settings to maximize the usefulness of the head.

P.S. I like to use an overdrive pedal on Channel 1 to create a tone that sits somewhere in-between what you get on Channel 1 and Channel 2 without using the over-drive.

SETTINGS
Channel 1: Clean/Fat/Tweed
Channel 2: Edge/Crunch/Mark I
Channel 3: Mark IIC+/Mark IV/Extreme

Thanks

Hello RK,

Regarding Extreme setting, I find it works fine for tight metal riffing - just lower the first eq band and you´ll be fine if your cab has extensive bass energy - remaining eq bands in classic V shape, gain 2:00, treble 2:00, bass 10:00, mid 10:00, it totally rocks! :D

Best,
Marcelo
