LSC Fan ON or OFF

Is there a reason you would NOT have the fan ON on a LSC?
Is it safe to run with the fan OFF?
There is NO mention of this in the manual

Leave it on at ALL times unless recording if the fan is to loud.

Mesa recommends leaving it on at all times.
