I gave my self the liberty of turning my LSS up a little today (maybe a fifth of what it can actually do) and i was even more impressed than I am at low volumes. The one thing that struck me is that the wide variation of impedance between my pickups is noticeable now (I have a 16.32k on the bridge and 8 something on the neck, i have a HH telecaster). The response of the amp is definitely not compressed, especially compared to my old TSL JCM 2000. I actually really like it. The amp is quiet as hell. What I'm wondering though is about setting an amp up to have a balanced sound across pickup selections. I get a nice velvety textured crunch out of the lead channel with the solo disengaged and it gets really smooth and creamy when I engage the boost, but when I switch from my bridge pickup to my neck pickup, the sustain is gone and the bass is just overpowering. I wound up going for as low powered and brightly voiced a neck pickup as I could find to get around that with my old amp, but my LSS reveals a lot. What do you do for that?

I glad to hear someone else got to turn this little tone machine up, because thats when it shines. I like the 5 watt setting @ 50% with the band, right now. I use a Strat and Les paul, my pickups on my Gibson are not matched in output so pickup hight plays a big factor, Its give and take as far as how to go about it. Find a good hight for one and then adjust the other from there. You are right on about the uncompressed open feel, I too had a tsl 2000 and I dont miss it.
Good Luck
