I hope this image posts without any problems. At any rate, I REALLY love my Ace. It's the 1x12 with matching 1x12 wide body ext cab. I was very pleased with the depth of tone with the added cab. I think the extra air space really gives it some nice bottom end.

cool - thats really THE combination. Is the cab also available with 2x12" attached?

Nice setup ; )

Is the stilletto capable of violin solo gain or does it need pedal assistance ? I currently own a DR with 2 x 12 DR cab and I'm not quite finding that sound in it.

Thank you. I'm not quite sure what you mean by 'violin solo gain' but it does have a Solo chanel which does need a footswitch to oprate.

I believe it is but not sure for certian. I've got to ask you. How did you come by four Ace's? Very impressive looking. Are they all connected in series? Do you gig with that set up?

Nice looking rig. I've also got the Ace 1x12 combo in green but not the extension cab. Did you have to special order it? I haven't seen any at the music stores in Dallas.

Thanks. I had to special order it through GC where I got the combo. They don't normally (if at all) stock them. It ran about $550.00 and took about a month to get. Well worth it though. It really adds a lot of fill.

dusty rhodes,

four because for the volume and fundament. the ace's basic sound is excellent but one only gets too screaming when cranked and looses the bottom end, though closed speaker back. imagine the double bass starting to roll, to keep up with that you need ampere not watt. will post some clip and details!

keep on rockin!!!

VERY NICE RIG INDEED!!!!!!!!! :) I'm sure if you would use the OCD as a boost with that rig you would get VIOLIN SUSTAIN FOR DAYS!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks. Yes as a matter of fact I was experimenting with the drive on the OCD using the Fluid Drive on the Mesa and did sustain for an unbelievable amount of time. I was able to get that early Santana sustain/sound. Very cool.

I would say, yes, without a pedal.

Sorry. I misunderstood your questioin. Yes, it is capable of violin solo without the use of an added pedal. I thought you meant can you use the Solo chanel without the provided footswitch. However, I do use an OCD pedal for dramaticly increasing that effect should I want to.

I run a VERY similar rig. Using the fluid drive and an HBE powerscreamer (basically a tubescreamer) I can get a nice tight sustainy lead tone (I am pretty sure that you are calling that a violin sound) with any of my guitars (mainly Tom Andersons) in my neck pickup positions. For the treble pickup I prefer using a Maxon Sonic distortion set up with the gain pretty much all the way down.

I have an OCD but use it on the clean channel to give the amp an extra crunch option.

I am using Dimarzio Breeds in my strat and in fluid drive mode with no pedals it sustains indefinately at 9 o'clock or above on the master volume....with the gain at 3 o'clock. I can leisurely drink a beer with my right hand and the note will still be as strong as when I first picked it and without vibrato to keep it going. I put my TS 808 on it but it sounded better without it. Seriously though... when the amp did it a drummer friend and I were blown away with the sustain. It stayed true to the note played and didn't matter what note was used. The Breeds are exceptional with the Stiletto amps because they are wound to produce a thicker/hotter PAF sound and with the Stiletto bite are amazing. And tapped the Breeds produce one of the nicest strat single coil sounds I've ever heard.
