looper and mark IV

hello eveveryone ! I want to buy a loopper like the boss rc 20 and I would how to install this : in serial between my guitar with pedal effects and the combo or in parallel in the loop behind the combo ? for exemple if I record the first loop with R1 and then I will play over a lead solo ? what happens ?how recording the sound of the amp if the looper is after the guitar and before the amp ? thanks for the answer to a beginner .

You will have to put it in the loop , if you record a loop with say r1 and the boss rc 20 is in front of the amp if you switch to r2 the track or should I say performance you just did will take on the characteristics of that channel.

I run a loop pedal in the effects loop on my mark iv and it sounds great. Nice to be able switch tones after the first loop is laid down.
