im going for a bluesy tone and a rock tone. very similar to that of warren haynes work with the allman brothers and gov't mule. what are your suggestions for amps? im thinking a mark 3 and i also own an express 5:50 that does a pretty good job but im looking to add another boogie to the collection.

Hmm, Mark III is more of a hard rock/metal amp. Well, it CAN do a lot of other sounds very well too, but the shared control is optimized for that genre. Of course there are ways around this, like using it as a 2 channel amp, or using boost pedal, etc. I would guess the Mark I, Mark IIB or Lone Star would be more appropriate for you.

try a mark IIB with 5 band.
i find the mark IIB to be an EXTREMELY under rated amp.
even by us boogie fanatics.
while people are going nuts over c+'s, these usually get left in the dust.
i think the b has all the dynamics, touch response, feel, and expresivness of a c+, but without as much gain on tap, and the low end is a bit looser.
