Ok now that I finally found my dirty setup a mesa Racktifier 2 channel thank you mesa I now need to find a way to have a decent or ok clean sound. I don't like the clean sound on the mesa plus I use both dirty channels for rythm and lead. I would like to to rack mount this situation but the only 2 rack mount clean amps by fender don't seem to exist on the open market I of course am talking about the solid state m80 or a tubed super 60. I have also noticed I will need a second cab on this situation unless theres a way to run a preamp off the mesa into my mesa cab which I doubt. Or can I direct box something into a PA with a micro cab and get a second cab just incase I play somewhere with a crappy PA? Any and all suggestions would be most helpfull

Run a rack mount modeler like the GSP1100 or Pod Pro using the four cable method. You can then select your Ractifier's preamp or a modeled preamp whenever the mood strikes you.

what is the four cable methods how does the gsp work can you completely bypass it for natural tube sound and does it have its own power source or do you need a preamp

It would take me forever to explain all of that. Go to Digitech or Line6's website and read the owners manuals. They will be able to explain the different ways of hooking everything up.
In a nutshell you run your amp in the unit's fx loop and program it to use your amps preamp as well as the modeled preamps.

+1

To get you started, imagine that everything in between the guitar input and FX send of your guita amp is a guitar "preamp", and everything from FX Return to the speaker cable is a guitar "power amp".

The preamp of your Rectifier can be treated as a stomp box for this purpose. Many Multi-effect or loop/switch boxes can switch between multiple stomp boxes (or preamps).

So you can have presets where the recto preamp is used in whatever mode you like, or other presets where the recto preamp is removed from the signal path, and either a clean-amp modeler or a clean preamp (Studio pre, Triaxis, or any other preamp) is inserted into the signal chain.

There is a "white paper" for TC Electronic's G System written by Laird Williams that explains this very nicely.

Boss Gt 10. (or gt anything really) but the gt 8-gt10 also has amp control. read my post In effects on the topic. ESPECIALLY if you have a 2 channel. Boss functionality is superb, their effects are awesome, they are built like tanks. people don't like their amp models, but I don't even use amp models on some of my clean stuff, and sounds sweet. I use my amps distortion...

Quite a few boxes can do that. Pretty much any loop switcher, plus many ME boxes like the Line 6, Boss, Digitech, or TC Electronic stuff, as well as the Mesa HGAS.

elvis can you please list a few i think theres another way to add a "third channel" withou breaking the bank

Are you asking about what modelers are available?
There are a ton. Check out Line6, Digitech, Zoom, Boss, Fractal Audio just for starters.

The set up will go like this...

Guitar-->input to modeler
modeler loop send-->amp input
amp fx loop send-->modeler loop return
modeler main output-->amp fx loop return

Just for example's sake let's say the modeler has 10 amp models and an amp control jack. You will be able to command the modeler to switch your amps channels and you will be able to select both channels just like you would change preamps on the modeler giving you a total of 12 different preamps to choose from (2 of which are your recto's channels).

so basically if any amp modeler with an effects loop will do what's so special about the boss gt10 or the digitech gsp1011

Since you're posting on here I'll assume that you have an internet connection.
You can use the aforementioned internet connection to browse websites owned by companies that want to promote their products that they sell.
Some of these companies that sell products and have websites to promote these products even publish information about said products.
In these publications you may stumble upon information inclusive to your current predicament.

Now that's me being a smart ass. :lol:

Seriously, do you need me to come over and show you how to turn the damn thing on too? Do some leg work there buddy. Go to guitar center's website of any of the other 30 online music stores, see what is currently selling in the modeler department, read the descriptions and go from there.

lol no i was just hoping there is a,link to a,list of preamps with effects loops that are compatible for the situation to make the internet shopping I'm going to have to do easier if not I'm going to look into adding a "third" channel using an ab switch a line mixer and an eq

Just google each of the following...

Line6 pod pro
Line6 HD500
GSP1101
RP1000
Eleven Rack
Axe Fx
Boss GT100
Zoom G5

Unless I'm mistaken these all have the loop for the 4cm.

Thank you so much everyone I am gonna try out the digitech gsp 1101 and see how I like it I also found a fender m-80 preamp I am going to try to add as a "third channel" with an a/b switch
