On using the clean sounds = Because I
A. Fingerpick,
B. Have my pickups low so I my fingers have got room, and
C. Like the mid turned right down for a sweeter quack using the middle and bridge pickups
I need much more volume than someone using a plectrum with their pickups adjusted up higher, I find the Express is too quiet, and very hissy past half volume!
I am looking to go for the Lonestar to get more volume and I hear from one person on here that its quiet hiss wise.
But I also read that its more mid sounding and low mid than the Express, does that mean getting rid of the mids for a sweeter clean hollow sound is going to be more difficult than on the express?
The amp I used to use was an F50, turning the mid down DEcreased the amps volume ALOT, and turn the gain and master up over half was very noisy.
On the Express the clean sounded ok although a bit bright in the high mid, I turned down the mid and fattened the sound with the contour. BUT the Blues channel was MID heavy, great for a certain sound I wanted, edge of breakup clean with a mid hump.
BUT is this the sound on BOTH of the Lonestar channels as its a blues amp, OR can I get a pure un boosted mid sound on the lonestar clean?
Confusing, lol.
Put simply can I get an Express sounding clean on the Lonestar without the blues mid hump, I want the mid hump on channel two.
I am looking for the Lonestar to sound like the Express, channel 1. Clean blackface, Channel 2 Blues, more clipping with a mid hump.
So why don't I get an Express? Only 50 watts, noisy past half volume, no Master output for both channels, no solo boost.
