Lonester Classic FAN on or off?

Why would you run the LSC with the fan off? I always run with the fan ON for fear of overheating but there must be a reason for the switch.
Anyone NOT using the fan?

The switch is for recording.

I wish Mesa would have included a fan on/off switch on the Stiletto Ace.

Did a recording on the quiet channel and, sure enough, you could hear the fan on playback.
