I'm finding that I cannot use a 12AT7 in the Reverb Driver/Return (V3) on my Lonestar Special. Tubes that work well in the same application in other amps, a Mullard CV4024 and an EH 12AT7, are rattling and noisy in the Lonestar. Anyone else finding the same? Is the circuit just not right for an AT7?
Thanks

Yep, it was designed to be a 12AX7. In many, if not most cases, I've been able to sub a 12AT7 in to lower the overall intensity of the verb and less "sproing". In the last Mesa I owned, a Blue Angel, I did that sub and it worked very well for me. Doesn't seem to work in the Lonestar Special but then again I just may have some bad tubes. That's why I wondered what experience other folks may have had.
