Hi there
I have my single rectifier amp boosted by maxon od-808 with a Rane ME-15 EQ in the loop modded in serie and a g-major there too.
I have a nice rhythm sound on modern channel but also nice lead sound on the vintage channel
I'd like to be able to switch between modern to vintage on the fly but I know it's not possible with this rectifier.
My other option would be to buy another amp like a mark IV or V and switch back and forth between the 2 amps for lead/ rhythm sound.
The only problem is that I don't have 1500$ to spend on a new amp atm.

Would a v-twin pedal in the loop of my single recto would help getting better lead sound?
or any other pre-amp in the loop would do the job??
I also have a roland fc-300 midi pedalboard to switch between amp channels and g-major settings.
I need some help. Anyone is using single rectifier and have a solution?
Thanks
Carl

I'm not much help, but I'm in the same boat as you. I have a Rectoverb that I love, but seriously wish for a 3rd channel to get a different distorted tone. What I do is run Ch2 Vintage but tweaked to get more of a Modern mode tone (Modern is just too harsh for me, personally). I just use the Solo boost for added volume in a live situation when it comes time for a lead break. I play in a hardcore band, so we're loud as all hell; the need for a dedicated channel for leads isn't too important. No one but me will be able to notice at show. In the studio, just keep notes for rhythm and lead tones to duplicate them.

That said, hopefully someone can help you achieve more what you're looking to do. Good luck!

Do the singles not have the channel cloning options? When I used my rackmount dual, I used channel 1 on vintage for the lead and channel 2 on modern for rhythm. No need for a clean channel.

No, the single rec has a clean channel (clean/pushed) and a dirty channel (raw/vintage/modern)

Perhaps, you could "test drive" a Sonic Stomp on your "modern -- dirty" channel. What it might do is to convert some of the grinding tones into more "singing" tones. I have a Nomad 55 and the Sonic Stomp can make all three channels (clean, blues, and modern) into more "round" tones, and it especially removes some of the "grit and grind" out of the blues channel (ch. 2 on my rig.).
