Hi, I have a Mesa/Boogie 50/50 poweramp.
At the moment the stock str420 valves aren't doing it for me. I'm running the amp into a modified speaker cabinet that has two 12" 200 watt ElectroVoice speakers (12S I think?).
I'm aiming for a really dark, low-growly type of sound. Grinding, roaring, really demonic low growl.
Lowering the presence hasn't worked. And using parametric EQ just makes it worse.
Would JJ KT77 valves darken the sound to what I want? What other poweramp valves could I use?
